In loving memory, William B. James, April 15, 1942 – September 2, 2014

We will always remember your quiet presence, your keen intellect and your wonderfully sly sense of humor. We miss you and think of you everyday.

April 15, 2015, would have been Bill’s seventy-third birthday. We lost him September 2, 2014, but he is always in our hearts. He loved philosophy. Two of the philosophers he most enjoyed reading were Joseph Campbell and Bertrand Russell.

With some argument, because Bill always enjoyed a good, well-reasoned discussion, he would have agreed with these quotes .

“The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature.”

Joseph Campbell

“The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. I do not mean that if you are good you will be happy – I mean that if you are happy you will be good.”

Bertrand Russell
