The bottle sat in the wall for thirty years. The glass grew dusty, the words on the note faded. Gradually, the sounds on the other side of the wall fell silent.

One day a hammer hit the wall. A hand came through and touched the bottle.

“What’s this?” He lifted the bottle out. “There’s a note inside – hard to read, though.”

‘To the owners of this home, the first I built. I hope it lasts for many years.
